Andrew Grigg

Sustainability Manager

Andrew has worked in the field of mine site restoration for the past 25 years, after earlier roles in forestry and water resources management. He has an undergraduate degree in Natural Resource from the University of New England, and a PhD from the University of Queensland, where he studied aspects of the ecological functioning of rehabilitated coal mines. Andrew joined Alcoa in 2005, undertaking research into the long-term sustainability of rehabilitated areas in Western Australia. He presently leads Alcoa’s environmental research program, oversees rehabilitation plant nursery operations and provides support to the Company’s bauxite business unit globally in the area of sustainable bauxite mining.
